Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana – Details & Application Form
Government of India started ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana’ Account Saving Scheme for Girl Child. The account can be opened by Natural or legal guardian of girl child. only one account can be opened in the name of a girl child. Account can be opened in Post office and notified branches of commercial banks. Minimum deposit ammount is 1000 and maximum amount is 1,50,000 pen annum. Interest rate will be 9.1 per cent for financial year 2014-15 and it will be calculated on a yearly basis and credited into account. Money must be deposited for 14 years. The account shall mature on completion of 21 years from the date of opening of account.

This is an awesome step taken by Govt of India. India is really struggling to educate people about the importance of girl child. In states like Haryana situation is very bad. Hopefully this scheme may be able to do some change.
